When silence speaks scrolls

Yesterday was great!! I was in Los Angeles at Broadway and Olympic shouting at the top of my lungs....
STOP THE WAR!!
ALTO A LA GUERRA!!
JUSTICE NOW!!
TROOPS OUT NOW!! IRAQ FOR IRAQIS!!

and so on... In that hullabaloo, I realized that I belong there. That's my people and I need to stay in touch with them. Everything about the protest blew my mind. There were Guantanamo prisoners, Muslim women, flower people, ill treated immigrants, Guy Fawkes, Toddlers, students, senior citizens and people from all walks of lives protesting. When these many people from different walks of life come together and shout in unison, it confirms your belief that something is seriously wrong and further gives you the assurance that you are not insane/alone.

In the rally, everyone expected the media to keep mum on this subject. I expected the same... after all, I read Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent. I wanted to confirm it with a proof. So, the first thing I did when I got back was to get on to the websites of the popular news outlets. I tried searching for the key word "Anti-war", "Los Angeles Rally" and "Antiwar rally" on the popular America news outlets and it was only MSNBC which mentioned that this rally ever happened. For me, this silence told me much more than any article would have. It told me that not doubting the corporate media is naivety, news is bought and sold and in the eyes of the corporate media, tens of thousands gathering in streets braving the bad weather and scary times we are living in is not as significant as Lindsay Lohan doing drugs!
